Burlington County College Spring 2013 does anyone know what schedule I should expect?

Hello all! I have been reading threads on allnurses.com for over 4 months and find them useful and so helpful. Wondering if anyone is waiting or has heard on status of applications for the BCC 2013 nursing program? I have had all of my prerequisites done since May 2012 and sitting out fall 2012 semester just waiting....hoping....wishing to get in to the program for January 2013. The waiting game is HORRIBLE!!!!!! Any help, advice and insights anyone can provide as to what kind of schedule I can expect is most appreciated. Also, if anyone has any of the PowerPoint presentations for NUR 119 and 120 that you are willing to share, they too would be very helpful. I am trying to get ahead as much as possible while remaining hopeful and positive to be accepted in to the spring program. Looking forward to threads and getting to know some of my fellow nursing friends.

I am also waiting for 2013 Spring nursing letter. The lady that makes the selections said they will start going out the last week of Sept. up to the 15th of Oct. I run to my mailbox everyday. As far as NUR 119 they have the sylabus at the bookstore and that is what the teacher taught from, I took it in the summer, i bought 2 one to put the answers from class and the other to study from. I am horrible at math and I passed on the first time, just study. If you go on to the BCC website and look at 2012 spring schedule that is probably what you can expect for next spring as well. Let me know if you get in, good luck.

Hi!!! I just got my letter today. I am so excited. I have to have my criminal record search ($150.00), drug urine screening and confirmation of acceptance with a $100.00 check/money order ALL by Oct 19th!!!! Based on other threads I have read, there is a long list of other things to get done including CPR certification. Going to work on scheduling that. Want to get as much done before December so I can start fresh in January and only focus on NUR 119. Have you received anything in the mail? I am sure you will get in. Did you finish all of your prerequisites? I know that BCC is a big stickler for that. Thanks for the tip on the schedule. I am going to pull it tonight. I will post anything that comes up that is required before actual first day of class. :-))

I am so glad that you got in, I have been stalking the mailman for the past week and a half. Sorry about previous post, I was talking about NUR-103, I was having a moment. There used to be a link for the nursing class under the programs of study, but it's not there any more. I got my letter yesterday!! I do have all my prereq's done I made sure to get it all done by this summer. I did the drug test today, had to go to Hamilton any ways so got it done. I already have CPR certification. You will have to let me know what class you are in.

Yay!!!!! CONGRATS!!!! That is awesome. How did you get the drug test done so fast? I paid for my criminal background check and it said it would notify me in 24 hours with Labcorp details. Yes I took NUR103 in the summer as well. Wasn't too bad but it did stress the crap out of me. I will definitely let you know which classes I will be taking. Super excited.

Have you gotten the package for registation yet?

No. I haven't. I called ****** the nursing office and she mentioned that the packets and registration letters will be going out in Nov. The packet will also tell us when we need to go in to Pemberton campus to register because it is currently locked for NUR119.

I am getting anxious because there is still a few things left to get done. I have my scrubs (2 shirt from bookstore and pants from walmart), books (+$300), engraved stethoscope (medisave.net has free engraving for $69.99 and cheaper than bcc bookstore which is $99), white sneakers and ordered my rolling bookbag. For now, I am set from that end but it is overwhelming.

As an additional FYI, I went to the bookstore in Pemberton to order my name badge and the girl that took my order mentioned that they have been messing up orders and the recent ones they did took about 2 months to come in. They are $12 each. I ordered 2 just to be sure because of few posts and others I have spoken to mentioned that they have lost theirs and you definitely need them for clinicals. I figured I would play it safe and order 2. They take about 6 weeks to come in.

Also, based on some threads you will need to have a nursing school physical done by your dr with a ppd test done. PPD test is a 2 part test that have to be given 2 weeks apart. This is also FYI for you to help with your scheduling and prep. SO MUCH to get done before January 18th!!!

Are you planning on attending evening classes? I can only go at night.

I have to do the day lab/clinicals due to my husbands changing schedule, so we aren't going crazy with finding child care for more than 2 nights a week, on top of school stress. Thank you for sharing all that info, I will go order my name tags ASAP, and start getting all the other stuff so its not all one lump sum.

From what I have heard, there are only 20 spots open for the day lab/clinicals and they are on a first come/first serve basis. Good luck -- I am sure you will get a spot.

Good luck with everything...I will check this thread periodically and add anything new I come across or find out which may be helpful.

Talk soon.

I received my first (of 2) nursing packets in today's mail, though the letter is dated October 23rd. There is a lot due in terms of physical and forms to be returned. I have my physical scheduled for Nov. 26th. Some forms are due to them as early as November 9th.

Just wanted to share.

I got my fist packet also, and I went in first thing this morning and registered for 119-404 as to be sure I got into the day lab and practicals. I ordered my name tags, still so much to do.
