Yeah, I know.

I'm so confused... it would mean there was 45 nursing students though, but that can't be, there's gotta be at least 90

Where's Moojie? She's good with this stuff, what do you think? :)

Usually they take 90 for the day program and 60 for the evening which starts in January, not in the fall.

But the fact that it changed from 30/30 to now 13/15 would mean technically only 39 people will get in because all the labs have 13/15.

Which is insane, I mean its not THAT insane but to drop it in half is horrible to everyone who has applied and is waiting- and its effn ridiculous in my opinion.

I'm just hoping everything works out; maybe they made a mistake, maybe they are just saying that- I don't know how to find out the truth lol... I wouldn't know where to call first- I think calling them might be the best answer- I'm just not sure who to call...

I wonder if they only allow up to 15 people to register for classes until they accept the new "class" so there are enough seats available...OR...maybe they add sections once they have the new "class" selected. I highly doubt they are cutting the program by half when admissions are up however-much since last year...the more students they accept, the more tuition, the more money. The fewer teachers they have to pay, the more money.

I wouldn't worry about that until we have a legitimate reason to!! :smokin:

hey guys

their are so many questions that everybody is calling admissions with that they posted a link on the bergen homepage...

here is some info under nursing for 2010

III. Acceptance letters:

1. Letters indicating acceptance or ineligibility to the program are not sent out until the testing period is completed and all applicant scores are received.

2. Student composite scores are ranked from highest to lowest. We do not have a "cut off" score.

3. Students are then selected from the highest rank on down. Students will be selected until the number of students determined for the incoming freshman class is reached.

4. Accepted students are asked to return notice to the admissions office with the decision to accept or decline admission within a designated time frame.

This is from the "Hesi Announcement" on one of the homepages

here's the link if you want it

http://www.bergen.edu/pages/661.asp

well at least it tells us how we'll be ranked.. they take the highest scores and go down until the spots are filled,

at least thats what this says

Yeah, that's what they've always said....it's that "quota" thing they fail to mention!!!

Hey guys, sorry I have been MIA, for some reason I was not getting the emails anymore when you guys post.

So, I have a lot of catching up to do!

Firstly, about the quota. I do not think there is one. The school is SUPER DUPER diverse, and I think the "mix" we get is just a reflection of that. I am Puerto Rican. I can not speak a lick of Spanish, but it is what it is.

Secondly, about the FAQs on the Nursing page on the Bergen site...ABOUT TIME.

Lastly, about the 90 students thing. I saw that there were only 45 seats for each Level too, but I think there is a reason for that. My counselor told me the magic number is 90, and I am taking her at her word. Like any program, I think they accept beyond the number of students that they can actually fit because according to some other threads and all the conjecture some people a.) have issues with paperwork or b.)get into another program. Why they accept 45 people over the limit than say 25 or 30 over the limit is PERHAPS because, like most of us, people has contingency plans, and for some people Bergen was that backup. I am going to talk to my counselor on Monday, so I will ask her again and see if she has heard anything.

:)

UKgirl, I know you do not want to hear this, but I think you are going to have to go to the school. LOL.

...get a letter from the Honors dept. requesting a MANUAL over ride of your registration date because it is not coming up on the Webadvisor. Take it to the person at the registration desk, and ask them(be really nice, sometimes they are testy) to fix it. This has happened to me both semesters and this is what I always need to do for registration:/
