Bergen Community College Nursing Program Question

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

Last Thursday I was at the college for the purpose of collecting my Chemistry grade with some classmates. Apparently, there was a graduation ceremony for RN's going on that night as well, and my friends started talking to one student to ask her about the program. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but one of my cohorts told me the student had stated that ELEVEN people had failed out of NUR-181 alone during her course!

Now, there's always a chance there was some sort of misunderstanding or miscommunication, but does this sound right? For what it's worth, I would think the application process and competitiveness of getting in to the program would assure a strong student population, so it makes me nervous to hear these things. I already received some insight from someone privately, but I was wondering what the public population made of this info.

Thanks!

Congrats Pixiedust :)!!!

congrats guys on getting "admitted" wish you all much luck !

Jaja40- Did you not get in? Or it doesn't say yet? :(

I'm not a current student at BCC so if I get accepted I would have to wait for a letter, because I was never given an Email account

Oh I gotcha.... That stinks.... The wait has been long enough! Good luck :)

I haven't heard from BCC yet. I am checking my webvisor everyday. I hope I get in. :sniff:

Congratulations to all those who got accepted to the spring evening program.. get ready to sacrifice lots of social time for study time... it's a good program.. it's a rewarding program but it's a very very intense program, no room for slip ups.. again congratulations

Fratjock, are you checking under "Prospective Students" in web advisor?? I read some old posts and it sounds like not everyone's web advisor said "admitted" last year and they were still in the program. Hang in there!! Although, I'm sure that's easier said than done.

Thanks missmoone! Are you currently in the nursing program?? Any recommendations for the first week of clinicals? I will admit that I am pretty nervous!

Is anybody selling their Level 1 books by chance???

from my experience last semester, i got my letter in the mail the day after i saw it on web advisor..so everyone stalk their mailman today lol i don't get my mail till 4ish here :(

also, i had to decline my acceptance last semester because my due date was in october and i couldn't fathom doing clinicals 9 months pregnant. my declining opened the door for someone else..do not get discouraged many have to decline or don't make it in officially due to various reasons...

how is everyone else prepping? i read on this post and in syllabus that we need to pass pharmacology math test in nur 182 to even do clinicals, have to pass with a grade of 80% or better..i ordered the book to start reading.

Pixiedust, what book did you order? I may follow your lead and start prepping ASAP! I am visiting home in Florida, so I wont be able to check my mail until next week for my packet; please let me know when you get yours! I am excited to get home so that I can start getting everything ready!!
