Hi everyone, I've been trying to get more info on Trinitas SON. I would like to know how does their point system work as far as getting into nursing 131? Because I was at their website I was reading that they look at how many classes that you took at their school? of course your gpa, and something about +2 if you are an in-state resident (I'll be traveling from nyc)? Does that mean as a transfer student my chances will be slim of getting in if I have all of the pre reques and my gpa is high? What if I only do like 1 class there then try to apply for nursing 131 is that an option that would help? If not, about how many classes would I have to take before I can apply for that class? Because appearently you have to be a current student in courses in order to apply. You can't just apply straight as a tranfer student? I'm confused? If there are any transfer student out there who are also out-of-state residents can you please advise me as what is the best approach to this? I do not want to think ok I'll start the class in spring 09, then do not get to take it. Then I say ok fall 09, and the same thing happens because of the fact that I didn't do enough of my classes with them? Basically I don't want to waste time. Someone please help me out with some advice?

Trinitas school of nursing,
hi I am currently in Nursing 131 in trinitas. It was really hard. I think you could make it if you quit your job. Evrything is incorporated in one class. alot of slides and self-study modules. Jeese i didnt know it was going to be like this.12 hours of Lab a week. it wasnt that hard but the instructor sometimes make it hard for you for you especially the prof in the morning class. there is a terror instructor that i know. It was easy to enter the program in trinitas. No entrance exam, no interview. You just have to apply to UCC and get a 2.5 GPA. I regret the time that I go to this school. If trinitas is in your list take it off. I'm on the 2nd semester of nursing and i wasnt doing well. They give you a lot of reference to read. they dont use just one book. they use 2 books plus other articles. If you have a job i dont think this is a best school for you. If you are not passing their 1st and 2nd tests in the beginning of 131 or other class they will advise you to withdraw and tell you that nursing is not for you. I don't like the fact that they dont encourage the students to fight and pass the class. I dont think they care about their sudents. trinitas is a tough school that i know.
I am planning to transfering to Muhlemberg school of nursing. I've heard that their passing is 70 only but you know u just have to deal with the long proccess before you enter the program. they have NET, interview and references. it sounds alot but i think they dont fool their student like trinitas. I want to hear more about mulhemberg too. trinitas has 75% passing grade and they only care about their 100% Nclex passing grade. this is not a good school for everybody.

Well if you think 131 is hard( which it really is not) and you feel you need to quit your job to pass 131 then you might as well drop now. 132 is way more time consuming and 231 and 232 even more harder. The teachers in 131 are a little rude but the 132 teachers are much better. good luck with where ever you decide to go.. But any Nursing program is hard no matter what , and every school has complainers, you will not find one Nursing school where people say it is great here no complaints. There will always be someone who has a bad experience at some school.

Whatever you say, I am not claiming to be a "Genius" I just didn't find 131 that hard. I am sure people failed and withdrew but I can only speak for my self and my situation. I am just saying I have not found it hard "YET". I am sure the program will be more intense next semester in 231. A lot of people do complain about the school but I realize that there are complaints no matter what school you go to. I have cousins in Nursing programs all over and they all complain about their schools and say don't come here, and I am talking about more than one cousin in different schools from from New York to Canada. They have all since graduated from these same schools , but discourage others from attending. SO what does that tell me, all Nursing schools come with some BS, hopefully no school is EASY because if it is I don't want a NURSE that graduates from that school.

Trinitas is not for everyone. so like I said earlier Good luck to you. Once I am done here I would like to go to NYU to do the BSN (In NYU you need 80% to make it to the next Nursing class, guess I won't be seeing you here either LOL)

Hopefully no matter what the passing rate is I hope all Nursing students are striving for the highest GPA possible, Hospitals are looking at your GPA now a days. You will need your transcript for some of them on the day of the Interview.

To be honest I don't think I would want a Nurse who is satisfied with being almost a D student because a C is not far from a D. Knowing 70% is not knowing MUCH especially when it comes to someones' LIFE!!!!!
