Yes that"s it, but i don't like it. I am a new nurse and to be in charge on the weekends is too much for me.

to mume2mykidz: I am orienting at washington twp. for eow. How long have you been there?
Is it a decent place to work? Right now it seems like there are alot of changes going on and all
heck is breaking loose. I am a brand new nurse and don't want to get in over my head.
I was also recently offered a per diem position at a LTC facility.

I was worling at the one in voorhees. It was too much for me being a new nurse I didn't want to take on the responsibility of being charge nurse on the weekend. I think those places are having trouble keeping staff, the one in voorhees doesn't have a permanent don, supposely he walked off the job and quit without notice. I think you should be careful being a new nurse with no experience because you don't want to jeopardize your license. I orientated for three days, then i told them that this is not the job for me. I told them it was alot for one nurse to do by herself. Even though they have med techs they can't help us with decisions. On Saturday we had four emergencies happen imagine you are the only nurse and four emergencies come up. Just be careful is what i'm saying. I think ltc will be better for me to start off, at least i will get some experience. If an emergency arises at least there will be other nurses to help me if needed.

That's the way i felt, I thought to myself this is way too much for a new nurse.

The jobs that I have applied for have ranged from $21-25/hour, depending on the shift you work.

I think that I will stay with the per diem LTC for now. It was actually my first choice of where I
wanted to work. The assisted living was a nice facility, but it seemed that the higher ups have
no idea of what is going on. As a new nurse, that scares me. Like mrstonyaLPN said, in LTC, at
least there will be another nurse there if I have questions.

when are you orientating???I work eow 7-3 and I am there a few days this week and next???where else will you be working,I am pool nurse at a nursing home...I graduated back in September and unless I wanted fulltime 3-11 I couldn't find a fulltime position and for me the pool and part-time works great for me since I don't need and benefits.
