Are you familiar with the controversy over the CNL role? This is a very recent development in nursing, and it's not at all clear yet how it's going to work out over time. There are a number of threads on the board that discuss this, which you could find with the "search" option, if you're interested.

I am wondering why SHU is doing this *now*. Their NCLEX pass rate in 2007 was below 75%:

Scroll down till you see the discussion of 2007 pass rates.

And now they have that news story about some of the senior nursing students not passing their exit exam. (See the thread about this story in this forum.)

Maybe they should direct their energies toward getting their BSN program back in shape...

I am glad I am getting out this year, the last accelerated BSN class.

I had to look up CNL. Direct entry masters in clinical supervision of other nurses seems dubious to me. I expect many will be working as RNs for at least one year to get some experience.

If you wanted to go to the advanced level in a specialty afterward, I wonder how many of your graduate credits would transfer to another program. BSN credits don't.

I was told today that although the main campus is going to have CNL MSN instead of accelerated BSN, the Georgian Court program will do the accel. BSN for at least one more year.
