NJ nursing license application

by Lemur

Hello,

I sent my application for licensure by examination last week - anyone know how long until I receive my authority to test? And do you know if I will need to do the fingerprinting before I can sit for NCLEX?

Everyone in my graduation class is getting licensed in PA, and they already know their test dates (not to mention they only had to pay $35!)...so frustrated.

L.

I was wondering the exact same question because I also recently sent in my application and was wondering how long the response time would be. I'm not sure, but I believe they will need to send you another application to be fingerprinted before your allowed to sit for NCLEX, but don't quote me. I'm just ecstatic that I'll be graduating soon .

For me it took about 12 days after I sent in my application and registered with Pearson. I'm not sure if you need to be fingerprinted before taking the NCLEX, but I recommend it so it does not delay you getting your license after you take the NCLEX. After you send your application, you will receive a letter informing you how you need to proceed to schedule your fingerprints.

You have to wait for your background check to be done by the state as well as for your particular college to send the letter/transcript saying you graduated. You do not need to be printed pror to sitting for the exam, however I don't believe they'll issue the license until you get them done. I graduated May 11th and got mine ATT on June 1st, the took the NCLEX June 17th and got my letter and license number from the state June 23rd. If you need anything else feel free to PM me.
