New Grads at RWJUH

Can anyone tell me how to contact RWJUH to apply as a new grad. I have looked at their web site and it has no contact info for HR and all the job postings are for experienced RNs. I'm assuming they do hire new grads, I hope! It looks like a big regional medical center with a lot going on, similar to what I like. I just moved to NJ after graduating in May and finally have my NJ license in hand!

If you call the main number - they should be able to connect you to HR, or at least give you a direct number.

Yes to that.

They do hire new grads. Many units, including just about any critical care area, would like you to have already worked there as a tech or an extern, but it's not absolutely required. However, they have good orientation programs for new grads. I know in the children's hospital, orientation for the PICU is six months of combined classroom and preceptorship.

Thank you both! That's exactly what I was looking for. I am going to contact them, from my research I think that is the type of hospital I want to work in. I just moved to NJ from the South, but I teched there at a Level I Trauma hospital w/ 800+ beds. Hopefully that will do the trick.

hi meredith, any luck applying at RWJUH. i tried to apply online but they sent me a letter that they will look into new grads sometime in September. hope i will get hired. good luck to you

They get hundreds of applications weekly. You really have to call and follow up regularly with them to make one person out of hundreds stand out. I try to encourage every new grad to do an internship right after graduation - it's the best chance for an immediate job right out of school. Without that, most hospitals will look at people with experience first and new grads last unless they're desperate for the staffing (unfortunately). Keep plugging away!

I decided not to even apply. The commute would be awful for me. I chose a smaller hospital just 15 min away. I didn't expect to like it, but I went on an interview anyway and was quite impressed. They won me over. An extra hour a day is worth a lot, and peace of mind that I won't be late. But good luck to everyone!
