ICU new grad internships in NJ?

Hello,

I'm trying to identify hospitals that offer ICU new grad internship programs in New Jersey. Do you know of any hospitals in NJ that offer this type of program? Thanks,

well why not just get a job working in an ICU instead of an internship? I know of a few hospitals in central jersey (mercer county) who are hiring new grads, but the full orientation (including a mentorship) takes about 3 months before you're able to float on your own. Is that kind of what you're looking for?

I'm pretty sure that we were told in orientation that Capital Health (www.capitalhealth.org) was hiring new grads with an extensive orientation period and you may want to give Robert Wood Johnson a call (www.rwjuh.edu)(www.rwjhamilton.org). I hope it helps. :-)

NJNursing,

This is very helpful! Thank you for passing these on. I will definitely check both of them out. I appreciate your suggestions very much.

Somerset Medical Center in Somerville used to have one - not sure if they still do. They did a didactic-type program where you would be in class (critical care course, telemetry monitoring, etc.) for a while and then have you partnered up with a mentor in the ICU/CCU until you were able to fly on your own. Check them out and see if they still offer it.
