Hey new grads, how many of us got a job?

I'm curious how many of us got a job after graduating and where did you find it???
i personally have no previous nursing experience so needless to say nobody wants to talk to me, ive been applying everywhere, i went to nursing homes and applied in person, now im looking for ANY job, cleaning, retail, anything i can get to get the bills paid. Do you think this will get better? I'm going back to school for my BSN in September so I dont stay out of nursing for too long but that means MORE school loans :/

All I can say is to keep trying. I did not have any experience outside of my clinicals, but would send my cover letter and resumes to hospitals and nursing homes (either through email or regular mail) even if they had no positions posted. About a month later I received a call from a hospital, had the interview and was called back saying I got the job.

Also, if possible you could try New York. It seems New York is hiring a little more than New Jersey. Don't just look at the big, well known names in New York.

It took me about 10 months to finally find a job. Don't give up and keep trying.

Dont feel bad...you are NOT alone. I live in Alabama, I cant get one either and I am willing to relocate anywhere for ANYTHING. I have worked as a CNA (1 YEAR), PCA (2 YEARS) and completed an ICU preceptorship. I just would like for someone to respond to me whether they want to hire me or not, so that I can know what I should do different.

Send follow up letters about your application to the recruiters, they work wonders.
