Failing The Nclex-rn 3 Times In Nj

Hey,

I was told that you have to take some type of class if you fail NCLEX-RN 3x in NJ, does anyone know what that process is like? I just found out that I failed for the second time today and I will be retesting in NJ for the 3rd time (I'm not sure when). Should I just take it for the 3rd time in NYC so I don't have to worry about that penalty?

Thanks

hi, I'm from nj and I've never heard of that, however if you have taken the nclex 3 times and failed, a class sounds like a good idea to me. Wait and see what happens think about the here and now and focus on passing on the test not on failing it. positive thinking can have an amazing effect.

Hiya,

I sat my nclex last thursday and am thankful to say I passed. However in a fit of pessimistic fear I rand the NJ BON yesterday to ask about their policy on failing 3 times. They told me they do have a policy and if you fail nclex 3 times what you have to do is sit a review course like Kaplan. They have a list if you give them a call of all the places and colleges you can sit these review courses. Once you have sat the course and send them proof you can sit nclex another 3 times.

As I say this up to date information as of yesterday 7th march 2007 straight from the NJ BON.

Good luck for times number 3.

Ruth

I think if you take the test in a NYC location, but did all the paperwork through NJ Board, to apply for the license, then your results will go to the NJ board anyway. The NCLEX is a national exam, and it doesn't matter the location where you take it.
I personally took it in NYC since it was the location which had the first available opening and most convenient time when I was taking it, but I had applied through the NJ Board, so I got the license from NJ.
Then I applied to the NY board, to get licensed there, but I didn't have to retake the NCLEX.

I think if you apply through NY to get a license and go through all the paperwork, fingerprints, background check, etc.,then it may be different. But don't know if they have a limit too.

I just think you are better off studying better this time. Maybe do alot of practice tests and find out where your weaknesses are.
