Should I just take it for the 3rd time in NYC so I don't have to worry about that penalty?
Thanks
I think if you take the test in a NYC location, but did all the paperwork through NJ Board, to apply for the license, then your results will go to the NJ board anyway. The NCLEX is a national exam, and it doesn't matter the location where you take it.
I personally took it in NYC since it was the location which had the first available opening and most convenient time when I was taking it, but I had applied through the NJ Board, so I got the license from NJ.
Then I applied to the NY board, to get licensed there, but I didn't have to retake the NCLEX.
I think if you apply through NY to get a license and go through all the paperwork, fingerprints, background check, etc.,then it may be different. But don't know if they have a limit too.
I just think you are better off studying better this time. Maybe do alot of practice tests and find out where your weaknesses are.
