college rankings?

After I finish my ADN, I'm planning on transferring for my BSN, possibly go from RN to MSN. My question is, how important is it as to which college I go to for these higher degrees? Will it look better for me if I go to one instead of another? And is there somewhere to compare college rankings for nursing programs?

I'm considering University of Delaware and UMDNJ.

Thanks in advance!

From what I've been told, it matters, yet it doesn't. I mean they'll look at what colleges/universities you went to, but it doesn't make or break whether you'll get a job or not. I was also thinking Univeristy of Delaware for a BSN/MSN program, but they don't have the MSN major I want which is why I'm probably going to do Drexel in Philadelphia. I want to go into maternity and possibly become a midwife if not an OB/GYN nurse practitioner and they have an MSN in Women's Health done in conjunction with Planned Parenthood.

And someone once told me, once you're working, they can't tell the nurses who got a 4.0 in college from one who got a 2.8. As long as you pass the NCLEX and other boards/cert exams, that is all that truly matters.

It only matters if your hearts desire is to teach at an Ivy league school. Most important is NLN ACREDITATION.

College ranks check out US News. See this article:

If you have graduated from a county college, many of them have partnerships with universities in which they will transfer all credit from community college.

Well as a person transferring from a county college to another college, most colleges will only take a MAXIUMUM of 60 credits. With my program, we graduate with 72 credits (although I'll graduate with 84) , so I'll lose 24 credits.

I'm not sure yet how all of that is going to work out because I've just started applying to colleges/universities so I don't know if I'll have to retake any classes or what will happen as of yet.

Depends on the school you are transfering to and from. If they have a special program set up, then they may take all of them. For instance, Burlington County College has an agreement with Drexel to accept all credits earned at the County College. You just have to find out from the schools
