Any Burl/Mercer Co Nurses?

I'm a nursing student living in Burlington county, going to school in Mercer County and just seeing if anyone lives in the area? I'm graduating in May and still haven't figured out where I'd like to work so I'm looking for suggestions, recommendations, etc.

I live in Burlington County, graduated in may from BCC. I work in the ED at Virtua in Mt. Holly. I have a friend that lived in BC and went to Mercer.

I was going to go to BCC, but I live in Florence and it's a hike from here to Pemberton and I can get to MCC in about 20 minutes. I just did peds rotation at Virtua. I had my daughter there, I was born there. ;-) I may end up working there. I'm still undecided.

NJNursing - What Virtua did you do your Peds rotation? I did mine at Memorial and there were NO kids, we actually had hysterectomys there LOL what a slow hospital!
I did however like the med/surge clinical there (4NE)

The rest of my clinicals were done at Virtua Voorhees, I think I did too much time at Virtuas I am going to Lourdes to work, that is if they call me and tell me I got the job.

I did mine at Memorial in Mount Holly. We had several kids the 2 days that we were there, ranging from a 3 month old methadone baby up to a 16 year old with an appendectomy. There were 10 of us on the floor and each of us had a kid to care for. We (thankfully) didn't have to go to Virtua Voorhees, but we did have to go to the Long Term Care center in Voorhees right across the street from Eastern Regional H.S. That place was so depressing, I couldn't wait to get out of there.

I'm looking to Robert Wood Johnson- Hamilton as my 1st choice, Virtua as my 2nd choice, Princeton Medical Center as my 3rd choice, Mercer Medical Center as my 4th and St. Mary's in PA as my 5th, lol.

My niche was labor and delivery/newborn nursery. I really loved that rotation and we did half of it at Mercer Medical Center and the other half at RWJ-Hamilton. Mercer had the NICU that we rotated through, but RWJ is newer and expanding it's unit which is under construction now to be opened next spring.

I was going to go to Robert Wood, they have another intern program starting in August and a bonus for you is that the Nursing Supervisor for Labor/Delivery likes to get new grads, I would definitly call now and reserve your spot, I was told they only accept 6 new grads once in March and once in August.
They also have great pay and tons of bonus programs!!

Good Luck!

Well I'm finding out that many of the intern programs have either closed their applying periods or they're about full! I'm really peeved that the college didn't tell us about when the local hospitals would be accepting applications. Grrrr..... I have applied to RWJ, but some of the other places are full and I REALLY don't want to go to Capital Health.
