which schools accept test outs/older credits?

I graduated with my first science degree in December 1999. Im hoping to get credit, if possible, for lots of the typical pre-reqs, testing out if need be.

Any feedback from people who ahve gone through the process of trying to get similar-"aged" courses accepted/which schools seem more willing to work with what you have done before?

Hi there,

I graduated with a BA in psych in 1998 and was able to transfer nearly all of my gen eds to NHTI A.S. program that then morphs into the ADN (RN program)...i didn't have any issues and my classes were like 8 years old...for some of them I had to jump through some hoops re: getting course info from original school and presenting it for review at NHTI...

I think if you went to a NH state school it might help with the process as well.

I graduated in 1987 with an AS in Medical Assisting and many of my credits from WAY back then were excepted by Rivier when I applied. Good luck!

Hello,

I graduated in 1993 from UMass/Lowell with a Bachelor's degree. NHCTC in Manchester took my classes. No problems at all. A+P and Micro are good for 10 years.

I would try there. I just graduated this MAy from there so I believe these policies are still the same. The deadline to get all paperwork and transcripts into the school is the end of Feb. The school really looks at how ypu do on the pre-entrance exam. There is a book in Barnes "n" Noble you can buy one from. It is not too difficult. The math goes up to alegebra and a lot of the answers you can reason out. There is a lot of vocab for the English section. The science section is sort of a hodgepodge of A+P, biology + physice, etc. I can not remember exactly how the science portion was.

Try to score in the 90th percentile becuase this is ewhat they look at along with classes already taken and grades on thoise classes. The school wants people who they feel will succeed in the program.

People drop out for other reasons than grades though.

Nursing school is a HUGE time committment. Perseverance is the key to success in nursing school.
