by ireland kempo Nov 8, '06I just received my scores for the nln pre entrance exam. I am at NHCTC. I got a 127. I am wondering if anyone else has received scores they would like to share, or if they have any information as to if that will be a good enough score to make it in to the Associates for RN.. I know 110 is the minimum, but if everyone else does better than me than it doesn't matter, correct? Thanks for any information/advice!

- Nov 8, '06 by LilyNHRNI am stumped, for the life of me I can't remember my score. I thought it was three different scores and you had to get above 50 on each of the three sections?
I am currently a senior in the NHCTC program, I know you want to score high but I can't remember how high. - Nov 8, '06 by ireland kempoQuote from NHnrsingstdntWell, there are three sections, yes, but the NHCTC requires a 110 minimum composite score, which is different from the raw score. A 127 was in the 90th percentile, and I checked with the nursing department to confirm the minimum score of 110.... the problem is they take the best scores to fill up the slots.. I heard this year most likely a 120 or above would make it..I am stumped, for the life of me I can't remember my score. Yeah, Im not sure what the 50 on each means, maybe that is for the exam after nursing school? I took the PRE entrance... but I appreciate your reply, I really do, I am new to this and I wasnt sure how well it would work and it is nice to see a reply from someone local!
Thanks a bunch,
ireland kempo - Nov 9, '06 by ireland kempowhile ive got your attention, are you doing the 4 year RN (BSN) or the Associates degree RN? I am doing the latter.... how is it? any advice?
- Nov 9, '06 by LilyNHRNI am in the associates degree program. It is very challenging but very rewarding. I am ready to wrap it up though, it has been a long process.
What school are you going to? I am in Laconia. - Dec 10, '06 by kukukajooI am in an associates program but will be transferring to get my BSN at some point. Had I done it this year I could have graduated with a BSN in 3 years but now it will take me 4 total but had to stay near home for family.
- Dec 15, '06 by ireland kempoi am in claremont, nh. sorry it took me so long to reply! i am still trying to find out if my score will be good enough, i cant seem to get a hold on anyone to ask!
take care,
ireland kempo - Dec 15, '06 by kukukajooI will see if I can find my scores this weekend. Not sure what my composite was but individual was 99, 97 and 67 or 68(English, Science, Math) which was well enough to get in first round at NHCTC-Laconia. I thought the Math one was going to decimate me but the other two balanced it out. Admissions director said VERY rarely does one do well on all three- everyone has thier weakness.
- Jan 10, '07 by ireland kempoThank you!! Those numbers, they were the percentiles you were in? I got percentiles of 96, 90, 84..... Hopefully they balance out similarly (Math, Science, English).... Well thanks again!
