Hi I just joined here I am starting the LNA class withthe hopes ot continue on to RN. I have ayr of psych credits from Northeastern adn I went to Elizabeth Grady I worked for CIGNA and I am horrified at how the patients care and insurance billing practices are forced to waste time and it seems that caring and business have no business in the same sentence!

I hope to pass the LNA class I am sponsored by a LTC facility they will pay the course fee then I hope to go on ot the TECH INSTITue. IN NH we do not have cmty colleges.

I was hoping to hear from soemone who started out as a LNA?

I too went from an LNA to an RN but I was an LPN for several years. It was a long road but well worth the journey.

Live today as you would wish you lived when you are dying"

I think that way when I feeloverwhelmed. I also want to obtain the LPN first. I need to take Chemistry but I have a few gen ed requirements complete about one yr worth including psych 1 and 2 and all the english and calculus

Well I am hoping it is manageable I tend to tire so it is good that I do not have kids. The nursing home offering to pay for my LPN classes at all I found to be quite the DEAL! Thank you so much for your reply!!

Where are you thinking of going to school? You're lucky that your work will help. If you have any questions just ask!

Hi I am hoping to go to the NH Tech in Concord

I received my LNA in October and workied for a short time at a Nursing Home. I just started at St. Josephs in Nashua.

I am attending HCTA in Manchester 622-8400 for my LPN and then hope to enter Rivier within the next year for my RN. I have a goal of the next 2-3 years to have my RN.

St. Joe's offers awesome school benefits and I won a scholarship so now all I have to worry about is overloading myself with school, work, home, kids, and hubby (oh yeah, my puppy too!)

Good Luck:p

Oh my, I am really new to this, I graduated last night from the Red Cross in Keene, what an awesome trio of teahers! I had been unemployed and NHES paid for my course. Now I am looking for a job and am thinking of advancing my career in the PTA direction. I would love to get advice,,,,thanks from Peterborough

Congratulations! I am also an new American Red Cross Graduate. Get out there and start filling out those applications. It may be good for you to try and work on a "skilled" floor. Since those floors have such wide variety of disorders. I worked on one for a short time. There were CVAs, quadropalgec (sp), burn, amputations and more. That may help you to decide if you want to look into the PTA. Call the tech schools too and see if they have any suggestions.

Good Luck:roll

Can I ask about the HCTA program? Do you feel you received a good education and that you were competent to work when you finished the program? I'm hearing good things about HCTA and your post is the first that I have found from someone who has actually attending this program.

Thanks

Hi! I am currently an LNA attending the LPN program at NHTI, graduating in just a few weeks :lol2: I attended an LNA program at the nursing home where I am currently employed. I have been an LNA for a little over 2 years and my employer doesn't pay for my tuition, but pays for the hours that I am in school. This enables me to receive a 40 hour paycheck, while only working minimal hours each week, and, more importantly, keep my benefits. In return I am required to work for my employer for the next three years. This works well for me because I really love where I work and I have two children, so I really need my benefits. NHTI is a great school, I plan on continuing on for my RN at NHTI. Good luck to you!

Hesser College in Manchester has a good PTA program.

Is a MA and NH CNA/LNA the same and transferrable? If I remember right there was some differences in what was required. Also if in MA taking the course, ask for the Home Health Certification which is seperate but necessary in MA if you ever want to do Home healthcare as an LNA/CNA or a company that bills medicare/medicaid, whcih is most of them.

How does one get a facility to sponsor them?

Any sort of tuition help information is appreciated.. I am finding the cost overwhelming and I haven't even enrolled yet. :) Good Luck!
