Incoming freshman NHCTC-Nashua

U.S.A. New Hampshire

Just thought I would be generous and help you out a little. At orientation you will be given the opportunity to take a med math test. If you pass it with above a 90% you will not have to take it again! If they haven't changed the policy you will have a total of 3 chances to pass it. If you do not pass you cannot continue nursing school at NHCTC- Nashua ( only one person failed it in my class). Good Luck to all incoming freshman. I am graduating from the program this year!

Thank you so much for the heads up! I have heard this from students who began the program last year. I am actually a little nervous about this ( I hate math). Do they send you information ahead of time about the test? How many questions are there? Can you give an idea on what we need to know?

Sorry for all the questions. Any info you can give would be greatly appreciated. Like I said it something I have been a little worried about.

Can you give an example of the type of questions to expect?

I would assume that they are dosage calculation/conversions.

Thanks and best of luck!

They change the exams every year (supposedly) and they are very strict about exams now that the class of 2006 stole some exams last year. I bought a nursing drug calculations book w/ CD-Rom tutorial. It taught me fractions all the way to gtts/min. They did not give us a heads up about it before orientation : (. I hope this is helpful!!!

Thank you :)

Goodluck to you!
