With A&P you would only have to take an additional two credits in order to get financial aid in the form of loans. What about taking an easy class in addition to A&P? When you start nursing you'll have at least 21 hours a week of class anyway (does Manchester do part-time?).

My husband makes six figures--I haven't pulled a salary myself for a few years since I sold my business during a very difficult pregnancy. But despite our income, I get Stafford Loans to cover the cost of NHCTC-Nashua full-time plus I get a check back halfway through the semester with enough to cover the cost of books and then some.

You only need six credits to be full-time, you may not be able to get the loans in time for the summer semester, but you should be able to get them in time for the fall.

Good luck!

If you took an english course or humanities you would have 7 credits and be considered half time and be eligible if you qualify income wise which I suspect you may. This class can be taken completely online or a hybrid class which means you do half online.

I used to try to mix up easy with hard classes. It can be done. I have three daughters and single mom and was working two and three jobs at a time and attending full time for a year and half. It was draining but can be done if you really really want this.

So please call the financial aid office back and see what you can do for help. Get the documentation in that you need and pester them to make an exception if it looks like you will qualify and you are not set for day one of class. Also you can sign a deferrment and make a payment arrangement that can change once the funding is set in place. They should be able to make a determination right away if you have the paperwork in.

Take care and best wishes- it is worth it for sure!

What state do you live in? If you quit your job and go full time, you can live off financial aid long enough to finish school.

Are you a single parent? If so, usually you may be elegible for some sort of grant or something.
I know someone that is basically going to school for free because they are a 'single' parent of two. i say 'single' for a reason.
Look at all of your options... borrow extra on loans if you can to pay for living expenses while in school, and work part time if you can.. and get food stamps, wic, etc. while in school. It's not that bad as long as you aren't abusing the system like some people do.
I am having a hard time thinking I can afford going back because I already have $25k in student loans... and having to borrow another $12k or so, scares the crap out of me!
Good luck.

I didn't read the answers currently posted, so sorry if this is repeated...but have you filled out a FAFSA? I have no money after paying rent and my other bills--I can't afford to pay for school. All I did was do my FAFSA though, and that automatically gets me a loan for enough to cover the cost of everything. It is a loan, so you have to pay it back, but you don't have to until after you graduate.

hello!

so i dont know where you live in NH but i applied for northern essex in haverhill,ma and even though your not a MA resident its still very cheap. also they have day care right on campus, you can pay for you classes in installments of 4 payments and you can get help if you are part time-full time which is only 2 classes. what i LOVE about them they have ''hybrid'' classes you only meet one night a week and the rest is online for alot of the basic classes math,english,ect.. so its a big help to working people of ones with kids!

also not sure where you work but alot of hospitals will help pay for school even if you do housekeeping or ANYTHING to get into a hospital is worth it!

they also have the hybrid classes that can meet morning or night its DEFF something to check out! good luck!
