UMC New Grad RN Training Program ????

U.S.A. Nevada

Published

Is there anyone in the UMC New Grad RN Training program that can speak about their experience in the program. I graduate in December from nursing school, and I am interested in applying there and I would like to hear about anyone's experience with the program. Does anyone know why they require a two-year committment for the program? Also, do they provide any tuition reimbursement assistance? Any information you can provide will be helpful.

I'm not familiar with UMC's new grad program but am in a new grad program myself and can tell you that its standard for all hospitals in Vegas to require a two year commitment. It's because they give you additional training (like critical care classes, pay for your ACLS, PALS and other certifications) and invest in precepting for at least 3-6 months. I don't know of any that provide tuition reimbursement.

Yeah I haven't heard of a New grad traing program specific for the Hospital, but department wise there is. The ED has a six month training program, last I knew of RN Hines was their CNL. Good Luck to You
