Nevada State College BSN Fall 2015

U.S.A. Nevada

Hello, anyone applying to NSC's Fall 2015 BSN program? I wanted to create this post to share stats, and for anyone who is currently in the program or graduates to share their experiences. I hate their website, it's so confusing! Anyways feel free to post :)

Hi! I applied for the Fall 2015 full-time track, I got in, and I am now in the 4th week of the nursing program!

Our cohort has the most nursing students with 45+ in our class. It's stressful and there's a lot of work, but it's also quite fun. I like how we all help each other get through our homeworks and requirements. :)

Hello Nerdy Nurse,

Hope you'll still be able to see this but I just wanted to ask how competitive do you think your cohort was? On the website it still says 16 seats are available? I'm looking at NSC at the moment but can't find recent reviews about the program. If anyone else has an input then it would be appreciated!

Hi serenity_07!

Since there were more seats made available for us, I think the application to our cohort was less competitive than the previous cohorts that only accepted 16 seats. The cohort before us (those who applied for Spring 2015) had 32 seats. Take a look at the NSC school of nursing statistics that was posted on the website, I hope it helps: Nevada State College: Statistics at a Glance

They haven't updated it in a while though; they still haven't included the stats for our cohort. Anyway, I have heard they will be decreasing the number of seats for the next terms to about 30+ (but that is still way more than the original 16). The cohort that came right after us has also 30+ students. I'm just not sure why it still says "16 seats" in the site though. You should try to apply, they have a wonderful program here. I hope this helps and best of luck!

I see. I'm not enrolled at NSC at the moment and I was told I have to be a student there to see an advisor. They kept directing me to the recruitment office first, which was pretty weird since all my questions were nursing specific. I hope they update the website soon. It's good to hear from an actual student there lol. If by chance, do you know when NSC normally offers TEAs? I called the registrar office and he couldn't give me an estimate around which month TEAs V are offered and just said that the dates should be up by the end of the month

Oh, I am not sure about that... The first person I talked to when I went to NSC (I was not a student yet at that time), was an adviser. Although he's more into general advising rather than nursing specific. I don't really know when they normally offer TEAS because I took mine at CSN and it was around the second week of May because the deadline of TEAS registration and testing for NSC was over at that time. I'm assuming it's a bit earlier than that if you wish to take your TEAS at NSC.

In this site, Nevada State College: TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills), it says that you can ask the office of admissions about the TEAS test dates. Hopefully, they will be able to help you with it.

Other than that, feel free to ask me if you have any other questions about the nursing application or program here. I will try my best to help! :)
