nevada nurse to patient ratio/pay

  1. 0 Hello,
I am currently a RN in Michigan on a cardiac unit for approximately two years
    going to be moving
to Nevada and will be looking into working in hospital again, as I am here. I was just wondering what the nurse to patient ratio is. Also, what base pay is compared to here in Michigan. Here the base pay starts about 25hr for a non float nurse with benefits.

    Any comments appreciated

You're looking at starting at 28/hr for a day shift position. With your experience you should be at 30/hr at a hospital in the Reno / Sparks area. If you are working in a telemetry unit, your patient to nurse ratio will be around 5 to 1

I work at a LTAC facility in LAs Vegas as a med/surg/tele nurse. I started off as a new grad at 26.50 with differential (comes out to about $28 during the weekend) and our staffing is 1:7/8. Needless to say, it's not great but I hear the hospitals pay a little more and have better benefits. Have you found a job yet? I'm curious to know what you started off at and where
