Las vegas New Grad programs

Hi! I graduated last april 2009 with Bachelor's degree and just passed my nclex last year, unfortunately I'm still considered as a new grad since I don't have any experience yet. I'm an international graduate from the Philippines. Can somebody here help me where my qualifications will be accepted? Do they consider international grads to their new grad programs here? It seems like I have no luck in looking for jobs and I don't know what I should do just to get an interview. ? this is really depressing.

Kababayan, technically, you are no longer considered a "new grad", even tho' you have no nursing experiences, this holds true for any US or NV nursing student.

The term "new grad" typically means that you're applying into a new grad program, provided that you are within the first year of your graduation month and year, NOT the month or year you pass the NCLEX.

So what is probably happening when you apply on-line or in person is that when the computer or someone reading your application sees that you graduated more than a year ago, it will most likely be placed in the "not interested" pile.

Are you looking into hospitals? Some nursing homes may look for new grads but may require a year of experience or some may take on an foreign applicant but the downside it could be a very tiring or demanding job because most others will not want to work in.

I see. Thank you for giving me this information! Appreciate it. Currently, I still have no luck in finding a job in Nevada. It feels like nobody won't accept me.

Hello @Deidei30, I also followed your post regarding temp Rn license here in NEvada.. Did they already issued you a permanent RN license? I am also in the same boat, I just passed my english proficiency examination. I am so worried, I hope that they will issue me a permanent license soon. Thanks again
