U.S.A. Nevada

Hello, everyone I'm new to this forum and I'm applying to CSN for Spring 2014. I was wondering if there are any other hopefuls out there?

I am in the process of sending everyone on this thread a private message with the link to the facebook group for our class...just so you know, the TOS for allnurses only allows me to send 10 messages every 60 minutes (LOL)...so its going to take me a while!! Silly-- :sarcastic:

sent nevadalove7!

Could you send me the link when you have a chance? Thanks.

I forward the link to you.

Greetings! I have also been accepted for the part time track for spring 2014! Super excited :) I would love to join the Facebook group as well. Looking forward to meeting my fellow future nurses!

So I would like to start nursing fall of 2014 but I just saw that the application deadline is march 1 2014 for fall. I'm currently taking bio 223 and 251 and semester won't be over until may. Would that make me ineligible for the fall and I have to wait for spring of 2015? Can I request an exception? I am historically a 4.0 student and have completed all but my current classes and bio 224.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but yes you will be ineligible for fall 2014. Bio 223 is a pre requisite and you cannot apply without that grade on your transcript. Also, bio 224 and 251 are worth a large amount of points (15) so without those, our chances of being accepted are slim. I would finish those classes and then apply. With a 4.0, a decent teas score and those classes you should have no problem being accepted. Even if you were accepted to start in the fall you would need to take 224 during your first semester which will make it a VERY heavy course load, not to mention the fact that what is learned in bio 224 is absolutely essential in order to succeed in your first semester.

One more question. I don't know why everything is an uphill battle with CSN, but I just transferred in my English 101 and 102 courses from Canada and they will not accept them as a replacement for English Composition 1. My English 101 was called Proficiency in Writing. CSN insists that my transcripts need to say English Composition 1. I am unable to obtain a syllabus or catalog from my school as it is no longer around. Any suggestions or am I stuck having to take this course again?

Thank you

Sorry I don't have any advice for you because I took all of my pre req's at csn so I had no issues. I can say that csn has their rules about everything and it's very hard to get around them.
