As an "upper classmen" I feel it's my duty! It's hard, and you feel so lost, so any help, I know, is much appreciated.

For the study guides, I just got the one for Potter and Perry and Jarvis. Also, and I know this sounds early, but an NCLEX book is a good guide as well! I have the Saunders one, and it's awesome! https://www.google.com/shopping/prod...&ved=0CLQBEMwD
    wonderful! thanks so much!

Are the class rooms listed in MyCSN correct for the toolbox class? I remember them saying they weren't correct in orientation, does anyone have the correct classrooms?

We all made it through our first week! A couple more hurdles to go and we will be out there with the patients once we make it past ACE 3. It is a shame though that some people are continually talking about being there before and failing the dosage calculations test multiple times amd being kicked out of the program. I think we all realize how serious it is at this point and don't need the added stress and negativity involved with hearing that over and over. It's draining... We can all do this!

Yay! We made it! I'm incredibly nervous about the dosage calc test! I don't know why, because I do well on nearly every practice problem I do from the toolbox book/homework! I just have to keep telling myself that I CAN DO THIS!! WE CAN DO THIS!!!

How are all of you first time csn nursing students doing so far? I always heard the first semester is the hardest. I plan to apply for fall 2013 and would like some in site on the first semester if possible. Also I am really worried about having enough points to get accepted :/ thank you in advance!

I'm not gonna lie, the past few weeks have been tough! But I'm really enjoying what I'm learning and I'm doing well so far with my grades. You absolutely must keep up with your studies and stay organized. How many points do you have? I got in with 28 and I believe that one of the alternates got in with 24 but I'm not sure what the cutoff was. In the past, it has been as high as 28 but I've heard stories of people getting in with like 14 points. Who knows what the cutoff will be now! Make sure your application packet is complete and make a copy of all of your documents that you turn in, just in case. I didn't do that and I spent months wondering if I forgot something. Oh and when you do turn in your packet, make sure the nice lady in the limited entry office reviews it for accuracy so you know if you missed something. Good luck to you!

Also do any of you nursing students have small children and if so how do you work around them as far as homework/studying? I have an almost 4 and 1 year old daughters, I do not work so that I'm sure helps a bit. Any suggestions are appreciated

I agree, stay organized! I have 2 kids as well, they were 5 and 3 when I started. I always studied around nap and bed times. Right ow my hubby and the kids are in Tn due to a job change, so I am alone..sucks too! Anyway, it's totally doable with kids. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine

101 has one lecture, one lab and one clinical per week. You also have pharmacology once a week. I would suggest all in lecture classes. But I know people that survived online. I had 31 points, but that varies semester by semester, so it's hard to know what the cut-off will be next time. I too have small children and it is a huge challenge, but it is doable, (so far). The time commitment is huge. It's possible to take a day off here and there, but don't get behind as it's nearly impossible to get caught back up. We like to say nursing school is like drinking from a fire hose. It's a lot of information and it's NOTHING like any other classes. It is hard, and I tell people that are interested the truth, not to scare them, just to prepare them. You need to go in knowing that the torture is temporary and the end result is worth it.
