I bought a Pretige stethoscope for $13 on Amazon and it works great. I'm going into my second semester and have no compliants. Good luck

I'm in my 2nd semester and I bought all my books on Amazon and some were an edition lower. I'm doing fine. P.S. I don't use any of the expensive recommended books they listed on the paper.

it might mean it's not transferable because it's a B suffix or that it's a required component to nursing 101? Heck....who knows!!!! I am so excited to get started. Still sooooo much to do!!

Does yours have double tubes? I have a friend who is letting me have her expensive ones but I listened with the double tube ones and I can actually hear better. They said it's supposed to be the opposite but I really have a hard time hearing with the single ones.

the double tube stethoscopes are both better and worse than single tube. The problem with the double tube is that you pick up more artifacts, such as the tubes rubbing together.

The high dollar littmanns actually have double tubes encased in a single tube, so you get the best of both worlds with neither of the down sides.

Has anyone found any super cheap insurance? I'm just looking for the cheapest insurance that the program will accept. I don't plan on using it, and don't really have any money, even for the cheapest insurance.

When I was in the EMT/Paramedic program at CSN we were required to have insurance and they gave us brochures for a super cheap company. http://www.ejsmith.com They specialize in health insurance for students but they cover absolutely nothing. I would double check and make sure it satisfies the nursing program's requirement before purchasing a policy

I have the same issue about the insurance. I called the nursing dept. yesterday and asked about the insurance. Lady told me that any health insurance will do. The insurance mikew702 stated is also called Transamerica. Spoke to nursing advisor in Cheyenne campus and the lowest plan for that company will suffice for nursing program. That is what I will be taking because I am in a very tight budget with all the expenses needed before program. I am still trying to figure out my funds for all my books...:arghh:

You can just call them at 702.798.7500 or sign up for a class at prismcpr.com. I called to sign up and the lady was super nice.
