I know the long wait is nerve wracking! I was just trying to make you guys feel better ^^ you all have great scores so I'm sure you guys have nothing to worry about! As soon as you guys hear from the school please let the rest of us know! I just really want to start the program already this prerequisite business has taken long enough.

I know the prerequisites killed me! It took me several years to get into bio 189 and two times to pass!! I was working on prerequisites since '09!! It's nice to be done with them but I am a bit worried about what is ahead but I'm sure I will make it through!

Yeah whoever hears from the school please post here asap so we know when to expect calls. I'm wishing and hoping that all of us get in!! :)

Tomorrow it will already be 3 weeks since the deadline to apply has passed. They made "the calls" for Spring 2012 on October 19th. So... If it all goes the same way we have less than a month to go before we hear!

Hi everyone. I just want to say good luck and just my 2 cents, while you're all waiting for the results, start reading up on general nursing stuff, the fundamentals, medical terminology, drug info, brush up on your math dosage calculation, watch videos about various nursing skills, refresh your writing skills, APA format. You'll be going through a lot of materials once you start the program, and 1st sem is tough. I'm only a first sem student, 5 weeks into the program, one regret is that I could have used my free time to read. Again, good luck!

P.S. Start saving up for future expenses- immunizations, tuition, books, uniform/s, shoes, stethoscope, bp cuff, drug test, background check etc. You can get a loan or fin aid but those won't come in until after school has started. :)

Great suggestion, thanks. I will definitely start reviewing. I also applied for the 2013 spring semester, and I am taking classes toward my BSN while I wait.

I applied with 30 points. I am thrilled you all have done so much research on the current applications. It seems like we should hear something within a few weeks....hopefully sooner. Good luck!

Thanks for the info! I think I might try to buy at least some of the first semester books from the store if they are available once I find out for sure if I'm in so I can start reviewing. I hear they run about $800...is that true? Also, I was wondering about the first semester intro clinical. Where is yours at? I've heard different things about it being at a hospital or ltc. Thanks for your input... I really appreciate it!

Books are expensive but you'll use them beyond 1st sem, try borrowing from the library first at CSN or maybe the public lib has them to browse until u get the official booklist from the school. The clinicals are LTC then Sub-Acute or Rehab. The facilities are all over the valley, you won't find out where until the first three clinical classes in campus. I have LTC in Summerlin then Sub-Acute will be in Henderson.

Just wondering if anyone has any new info? My anxiety level is at about a 12 on a scale of 1-10. I picked the worst semester to not take classes because I have nothing but my boring job to occupy my time and mind with. Time has never passed more slowly in my life!

I did call the LE office earlier in the week and she told me (like everyone else) we would hear by the end of October. I did take a look back about the number of applicants being less than the maximum seats available. Someone had commented that the school can reinstate students that previously withdrew. Since the majority of people say how hard the first semester is I would assume that is when they withdrew. The 123 number of applicants probably does not include letters requesting reinstatements that will be granted. Therefore, they do not have to take all the applicants. I have also had way too much time on my hands! I made a copy of my application and attachments that I turned in and have gone over and over it to make sure I didn't miss anything. I took two classes this semester and am not sure which is worse... Trying to do well in those while waiting to hear is very distracting. Although good tips from xtnag 1 I could not imagine reading up now or buying any course material until I hear a definitive yes, you are in. On the bright side, Monday is October and we are hopefully more than halfway through our wait! I am keeping my fingers crossed for the week of the 15th.

Thanks for calling them! I do have a feeling that they will tell everyone the same thing about when they will decide. Making copies of your whole application was a great idea! I'm constantly worrying that I forgot to check a box or something and I don't know! Once I find if if I got in I will probably try to borrow some textbooks from the library so I don't end up buying the wrong one. I also plan on reviewing info from A&P, micro and math 100b as soon as I dig my books out of storage. It has been a while since I have taken those classes and I need something to occupy my mind. I just need to stop stressing about it. I made it through the last month (well almost 3 since I turned in my app), I can push through for another month! I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for the week of the 15th!!!

October 15th is strictly wishful thinking on my part. Last spring it looks like they had 195 applicants and the spring before 275 so they have a lot less to go through this time. I sit at a desk all day and probably won't be able to help myself from calling again next week. New month, maybe a new answer. You are not alone in your anxiety!
