Hello everyone, I'm new to the site and I was wondering if there are any fellow CSN RN Spring '13 hopefuls out there. I just turned in my application today and I would love to get to know some of my potential classmates... Read More

How many points did all of you have when you applied (I know some of you already mentioned it)? I was not at all planning on attending CSN so I put off COM 101 until this fall so I couldn't get the 5 points for it, its the only pre-req I'm missing, too. I have 24 points so far (I didn't get a 95 on the TEAS like I wanted!) but I figured I'd apply anyway even though when I spoke to limited entry office they said 26 points is the safest. Anyone else apply with points as low as mine?

Also, they're supposed to tell us their decision 15 days after application, right? Is that via mail only or will they e-mail us, too? I'm sooo anxious to find out, I'm not getting my hopes up too high but it would so amazingly fantastic if I get in!

I applied with 28 points and they said I was "golden" at the limited entry office and according to them the cutoff was 27 for Fall 12. It doesn't hurt for you to apply! There may be less people applying this time around which will definitely benefit you. I was told by the LE office that we probably won't find out until the end of October and it will be by phone.

I have read every single post from the last 2 semesters' threads and for Fall 12 they found out in the first week of May (which was late). For Spring 12 they found out the third week of October. So if this semester is anything like the last 2, it will be at least a month before we find out!

Thanks so much for your response! I was just hoping that there aren't too many people with really high points that applied and that people with the same amount of points as I didn't bother lol. But yeah I'm not keeping my hopes up, I just wanted to apply just in case And its good to know it actually takes way more than the 15 days it says on the website, I've been waiting assuming it would come out next week!

From the email I sent to the LE office about the number of applications they received:

"There are 123 for the regular track and 24 for the extended track"

I asked if this is less than previous semesters. If so, that is GREAT news for us considering there are usually about 136 F/T spots and 24 P/T spots!!! I'm SO happy!

Edit: she also said this after I asked if this was less than prior semesters:

"Yes, this is an unusually low number! It's a great time to have applied"

That is great news!!!! Maybe they will make the acceptance calls earlier because they don't have as many applications to go through. Wishful thinking on my part, but wouldn't that be even better news! Did she happen to say anything about that?

    Thanks for the udate!

Hopefully!! That would be awesome. She seems really nice so I will try to ask her again in another few weeks when we should expect calls

I'm one of the 24 P/T applicants. I went in with 28 points, and was told "That's competitive." Good luck everyone!

If only 123 applied for the regular track, then I super excited!

Did anyone provide their high school diploma in their application packet? I was reading the info from the school's website about the selection criteria and on the second page it states the following:

ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT FOR ADN APPLICANTS (English language
    proficiency requirements for RN-program admission):
All ADN program applicants are required to demonstrate English Language Proficiency. Demonstration of
English Language Proficiency includes one of the following:
    ● Copy of unofficial transcript showing secondary/high school graduation or degree completion at a
college or university in Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada (except Quebec), Ireland,
Trinidad, Tobago, South Africa, Ghana, Jamaica, Barbados, or United States/territory. <--- I'm concerned with this.

I went to high school in Nevada (graduated in '03 and I have no idea where my diploma is) and I already have a certificate (dental assisting) from CSN. I'm fairly certain that they know that English is my primary language but I wanted to make sure that I'm not missing something from my app. Maybe I'm just being exceptionally paranoid :/

You are looking at the selection criteria for Fall 2013. The one for Spring 2013 does not indicate to attach a copy of your HS diploma nor does the application or checklist. It looks like they have changed a few things for Fall. I did not attach a copy of my HS diploma... When I turned my application in I asked them to take a look at it because it seemed so simple and I was sure I was missing something. She said it looked fine and took it. I think it is very easy to become paranoid at this stage of the game. Check it out and let me know what you think.
