CSN RN Fall 2012

U.S.A. Nevada

Published

Hi Everyone!

I am new to the site and will be applying to CSN's RN program in March. I wanted to start a thread and see who will be applying with me and how things are coming along for everyone. :) I have all pre-reqs completed with a pre-req GPA of 3.58. I took the TEAS about a month ago and I passed, but wasn't thrilled with my score, particularly in science. I got an adjusted individual total score of 74.7%. Reading: 92.9%, Math 70%, Science 60.4%, and English & Language Usage: 76.7%. I barely passed the science portion and have signed up to take the TEAS one more time in February. With my current TEAS score, I have a total of 29 points for my application. I'm really hoping to get a better score and another point or two from the second TEAS!

Please let me know if you'll be applying in this cycle. I'd love to exchange advice and information and just connect with *hopefully* some future classmates! :)

I did complete all of my co-requesites to be more competitive for this acceptance.

dont you have to pay for the drug test at the cashiers office? They have an ATM right next to it.

Nope, I paid for my drug test on Friday and he told me we could pay online & print (it's the same receipt they give you) or pay cash in person.

Does anyone know when and where we are supposed to take the drug screen? I am flying in late Thursday night and flying back home 6:20p after orientation. I'm not sure when to fit this in.

go to the drug testing place before you go back home. It may be too much of a hassle to try and find an office in your home town. It takes all of 30 minutes at the most to do the test. Just pee in a cup and go basically.

and thats good you can pay online for the drug test i dont think we could do that before.

It has to be within 3 days of orientation, or at least it used to be that way. There is a Quest on Rainbow just down from the college, by the JC Penny Homestore. It doesn't take long!

Just feeling a little paranoid about forgetting something for tomorrow and want to make sure I'll have everything. The way you all understand it, all we need to bring is a copy of our ID and our receipt for the drug screening, right? Just making sure! :)

Soo freaking excited!! Yes kebby that's all we need :-D

What did u all think of orientation? I thought it was very informative but dull. There should be a more interactive way to get info out without us sitting for 8hrs! It was hard to stay focus sometimes..I think the group should be grouped into groups of 10s or something and have sessions with each speaker. But a plus is they said about 9ppl didn't show so yay for us alternates!

Has anyone been able to register for classes yet?

Not yet Kayliana! :( I tried to register immediately after orientation and couldn't, so I called the office and was told that the block on our registration will likely not be resolved any earlier than Monday. I guess we're just stuck waiting until then!

I can't register until Tuesday anyway :-( They've been having problems with mycsn apparently though
