I live in Henderson towards Rail Road Pass has anyone checked in the the Las Vegas College nursing program? What was your feelings about it I like the idea they are right by my house but the hours are in the morning when I work as a receptionist what should I do I am 47 and not much time to waite, I was a nurse for 20+ years go out of it and wished I stayed in nothing will apply after being out for more than 2 years any help would be appreciated.

I'm 45 myself. I will be graduating from ccsn next May. I didn't know that Las Vegas College had a nursing program. Is it state accredited? If you finished nursing school 20 years ago, there is a refresher course that is offered for re-entry nurses at ccsn. I would call and talk to a nursing advisor there to see what your options are. Good Luck!

I was not a LPN just a CNA the program I started with was discontinued right before graduation so they gave us a certificate. I spoke to the nursing board here they said if I hadn't worked in the field for over two years I had to start over again so I might as well spend the money and do the LPN program and go from there at least I can work and pay for the continuing education to RN what program are you graduating from? I would sure like to talk to someone about it who has actually gone through it. It seems so overwhelming just to try and get in?

I'm in the 2 year RN program. It has gotten tougher to get into the program, but they have doubled the enrollment from 64 to 128. 96 of the 128 is full time and 32 is part time. You have to take about 3 biology courses, English 101, psy 101 and a medical math (basic math) class as pre-reqs. I believe the GPA requirement is 2.7. I believe it is easier to get into the LPN program. That program takes about a year. After that you can do the RN bridge program part time.

Thank you so much for replying so quickly, can you call and talk to me about the in's and out's? I would really like to talk about the program like everything else theres is always something someone forgot to tell you about the program and how to go about getting in. I have most of the pre-reqs for another AA degree in GIS I just took math 91 and a bio class I am sure I need higher math and bio I did have a 3.0. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

I thought about trying for my BSN from NSC, but they have some weird pre-reqs and I just don't want to spend the time or extra $ on classes like college study skills and success in college. I'm a lifer when it comes to college. I have all A's in my core and have already been accepted into CC but had to withdrawl for family reasons 1/2 way through 1st semester. I have applied for Spring 06 and really hope to get in. I just dropped my Micro I was going to take at NSC because the teacher. Whoa! He has a "beautiful mind". Kind of hard to teach students when you find micro soooo easy. No one understood him. He also expected a Nobel Prize winning paper on creating a virus to Kill cancer. Those were his words. Hello....I'm not in graduate school. I couldn't risk getting a bad grade, so I will take it a CC in the Fall.
How's that for where I live???

Just want to let you know that these classes are ONLY required for the Newbies (Freshmen). If you have been attending another college for awhile they wave these (I know b/c I just got into one of their programs w/o them).

Dang u live close to NSC! I took Micro at UNLV & they have pretty good professors. But if u r trying to save $$ go the CC route. BTW: I her CCSN's programs r excellent! Good Luck!
