UNLV's BSN program....

by MikeyJ

I am in their BSN program (I have 2 semester of pre-req's to finish). Just curious if any of you have completed this program or if you are currently in it? I am curious to what the issues are concerning giving each other bed baths. The school I come from banned it and they had to work on dummies. What are the procedures for UNLV? Do you practice on each other or are dummies used? What about with other procedures you must practice on each other? What are the limitations @ UNLV?

Hi,

I graduated from UNLV last summer and yes you do bed baths on each other in the Nursing Fundamentals class. You wear shorts and a shirt and wash extremities. You do not start IV's on each other. During one rotation you may work with the IV team at a hospital and practice drawing labs on one another. But I don't think it’s required. I hope that answered your question. Let me know if you want to know anything else about UNLV.
