So i know now that i can challenge my classes to be transfered, which somewhat brings my stress level down. So it comes to this. How easy is it to get into UNLV as a transfer student with 24 transferable credits with a 3.5 gpa? My plan is to apply before winter break for the fall semester of 09 in UNLV.

You will easily get into UNLV, but you still have a few semesters (probably 3) before you are able to apply to the nursing program.

So if there are some classes that will not transfer, you will still have time to retake classes before applying to the nursing program (hopefully you can get them all transferred though).

She's gone, huh? That's good to hear...there were a few people in my class that were pretty upset to be that close to graduating and suddenly being told that their chem credits or whatever weren't being honored.

I almost had a similar issue with my credits from CCSN pop up after I submitted my grad packet, simply because I hadn't taken the "official" chem class required. Instead, I had taken the two-semester chem sequence for chem majors, two semesters of o-chem, and 1 semester of biochem. It got cleared up, but still involved a bit of bureaucratic bs.

To the OP, it sounds like things have improved in this regard with the SON advising, but I would still advise you to keep o top it even after you are accepted. First step is to get your credits accepted by UNLV. Then, once your in, you will have to talk to the SON pre-nursing advisor to iron out exactly what you will need to enter the nursing program.

Good luck!

That is one thing you need to do at UNLV -- keep on top of everything! Every department seems to "misplace" paperwork, never do what they say they are going to do, and no one really cares... that is the way it seems anyway. The professors in the School of Nursing are all caring (for the most part) and want to see everyone do well.

The financial aid office is the worst to deal with.. they all seem very incompetent. So, at UNLV it is incredibly important to follow-up with everything to ensure it is getting done.
