It was a good program, prepared me to become a nurse. Be prepared to study and work very hard because it isn't that hard to fall behind and fail.

That's the plan! I definitely don't want to fall behind or fail after being accepted! I won't be working while I am in the program, so I can study my butt off. Did you work while you were in the program? Is there anything that you suggest I do over the summer to prepare myself?
Thanks for your input.

my best advice. enjoy your summer. have as much fun as you can . i really mean it. the program will come to you when it begins so why stress yourself out during summer break. I did work part time as a CNA, some miscellaneous side jobs and as a nurse apprentice in the cardiac intensive care while in school.

Be prepared to STUDY. My best advice... If you are a "science" person, learn to let that go. Nursing is not a hard science. It is very subjective and relative to the situation. Questions are not presented in a format that makes perfect sense. The questions are usually presented in a case-scenario format. Just study and be prepared. It is probably one of the most challenging things you will do in your life. Good luck!

It'll be different. they are changing the curriculum this fall. It'll be based on the most common disease processes (COPD, Asthma, etc) instead of nitpicking through most of them. Does that mean it'll be easier? Probably not. It's true you will have to study. You will have to figure out the best answer on multiple choice questions. You will find out there are two answers out of the four that seem correct but only one is right. But like i said enjoy your summer.

Thanks for your responses. I feel like I already have good study habits, so I do feel prepared in that sense, but I guess one never knows until they are actually in the program. I am sure it will be much different and harder than anything I have ever done.. but I am ready for this challenge and have been waiting for what feels like forever!

Medwynn,
Where did you learn this information about the program changing? It seems like they are constantly changing everything. Good to know, though!
