207 applicants full-time? 38 for part-time? Huh? I'm suprised by those figures. I would've thought it's a lot less. I wonder how many of them are actually qualified applicants though?

I have no idea. I'm leary to ask too many questions, not like they will know who I am on the phone, but you know what I mean. It appears to be a typical semester, nothing like the way they made it sound at advisement. They said to expect hundreds of applicants.

[quote=rwbglock23;3908754]I am the full time 101 rep and vice president of NSNA (which all of you should join, and when you DO get accepted you will meet me on November 6th!) and we just finished our 6th week and 2nd exam in 101 and Pharm. I haven't heard of too many people who have been dropped as of yet, however, this week (week 7) is the drug calculation test and from what I hear we are going to lose a HUGE amount of people.

Thank you VegasEMT and rwglock23. Every bit of info helps.

To VegasEMT, I wish I applied for the part-time program instead. Full-time scares me and w/ my 27 points total, I didn't think I'd be accepted for part-time.

To rwglock23, this girl I know who just graduated in the summer told me that CSN loses several students (in the 1st semester) after the drug calculation test. BUT, the HUGE loss is really towards the end of the semester when they find out that they failed either NURS 101, Pharm or both. A lot of students gamble w/ their grades and end up re-applying anyway. She said for each class you take, there's ONLY a certain number of points u can afford to lose. Anything below 75% (overall) is fail. That's why it's hard to make the grade. Ouch

Anything else you can tell us, ohmeowzer? Like, how high are our points going to need to be to get in? And when are they going to call us? I don't want to miss my call!

Thanks, BTW!

Sorry you all are still waiting! I remember waiting for the phone call also but I imagine they are very close to calling you guys. I forget what the date was when I got the call last year but it was either the second last or last week of October. So hold on just a little more you are almost there!

Hey rob! You hit it right on the head! You are so awesome.
I am in the lab, doing my Nursing care plan for my group case study. I wish we had already turned it in like you did! You better be at the study session tomorrow. I am looking forward to seeing you and picking your brain. I remember when we used to bs on here every day too. That was fun. Now its all work, work, work!
We are still out here, fall 09 nursing 101 students!
We lost two so far out of our clinical/lab group. One left on her own, the other did not pass the math test; both of them were the most kind.
Here is some info they do not tell you-- you end up with the same small group of people for the entire semester. Around 8 students per lab/clinical, it is due to the lottery style of first semester accumulation of classes. Some people still have not let the 'competitive' side go, some are VERY catty. Yes, it sucks when you deal with them every day but you have no choice. And you have to work together on papers and patients in clinical. You just hope for maturity and civility, and pray for the semester to end soon! lol! It only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch... didn't your mom ever tell you?

IDK why you all are so anxious to start working your tails off with no sleep. Rest now while you can. The pressure on this end is so high...
I have been through another medical training program that was pretty intense but the pressure was a lot less there, maybe because it was predominantly male? IDK. I have yet to figure it out.
Good luck. Sleep while you can...
