No, they just told me what they told you. Calls will be made in the last week of october, for accepted applicants. Nursing students that I briefly spoke to told me that, CSN nursing staff usually have everything by the book. Meaning the schedules, meetings, etc. so, it pretty much is the same every year. Calls are made around the same time as last year's and the year before that. We'll get in, don't worry .

Well, there's always "private schools," they're just as good as the state schools (I hear). They just need a reality check on how much they charge. They really need to lower them down or they'll end up LITERALLY competing for students, against the state schools or against each other! Ironic isn't it? I say, it's about time !

How do you even apply with 5 points. If they don't have all their pre-requisites done and are trying to take classes plus nursing school they are crazy and if they have bad grades in their core classes it is going to be hard to pass. For Spring 2009 we had what they said was the most competitive semester as far as applicants and cut it off at 26. Well, even with those high points we lost so many people after first semester that failed.

I was trying to break it down too, but the advisor told me that people with 5 points got in last semester! It doesn't even make sense! Can you imagine trying to do a/p and micro during the program???

I think people who got in w/ less than 15 points, had those points ONLY during the time they applied. They were already enrolled and working on those extra classes, for extra points. By the time they got accepted for fall '09, they're already finishing up ALL the pre-req and extra point classes. It is possible to do that, they're lucky they got in. It's because CSN had LESS qualified applicants for fall this year.

By the time they started nursing school, they only had to take the nursing classes. I wonder how many people are still in the fall program as of now though? The drop/failure rate is pretty high in the 1st semester.

Well can't speak for the full timers but we started with 22 applicants in the Part Time Program and we still have 22 applicants in the Part Time program and were in our 7th week and just finished the second round of testing between Pharm and Lecture

I am the full time 101 rep and vice president of NSNA (which all of you should join, and when you DO get accepted you will meet me on November 6th!) and we just finished our 6th week and 2nd exam in 101 and Pharm. I haven't heard of too many people who have been dropped as of yet, however, this week (week 7) is the drug calculation test and from what I hear we are going to lose a HUGE amount of people. The drug calculations are very simple but people think that because they are so simple they don't need to study at all...then they are gone! I am studying right now, and to be honest with you, yes nursing school does shut you up. I used to post and read this forum everyday before nursing school started and was CRAZY excited like you all are. Now all I do is read, research, study, read, so on and so forth.

If you have more than 20 points I would be willing to bet that you will get into the nursing program. They did everything they could just to get 150 students or whatever the number was into our class. Keep your heads up and get ready to completely change your life! I was the guy who studied the night before A&P I & II and Micro and got 100's...not even a chance here in this program. The questions on the test are totally different and are application of the knowledge so it isn't simply memorization, it is memorization and application of that memorization. I got an A (which so you know ahead of time because I didn't an A in nursing school is 93-100, not 90-100) on my first exam and a B on the second for both Pharm and 101.

Good luck and I look forward to talking with and meeting all of you on November 6th. Remember to check us out we will be selling all the goodies that day and myself and the president will speak to you all about NSNA. You can check out NSNA online www.nsna.org!!

I wish I knew exactly what day we'd be getting the phone call so that I know I would get it. I have a class T/Th mornings that I get absolutely no reception in. :/ Plus it would be really nice to be with my best friend who also applied. I wonder how in semesters past everyone knew what day they were getting their call! I'm pretty confident, but it's the not-knowing that's just killing me right now....

Ok, so a friend of mine got nosy and called the Limited Entry office today and this is what they told her. Apparently there are 207 applicants for full time and 38 for part time. Not too shabby!!!
