Schools in Vegas

by windis

Hi,

I am new to this board. I am in CAlifornia right now, but I am going to be moving to Vegas to live with my parents so I can go to school for nursing.

If I go through CSN I have 18 units of pre reqs and then I have to take the RN pre entrance exam, then two years to become a nurse.

If I go to Apollo College I take the cpat and then the NET, then 22 months at Apollo.

I have seen that Apollo College is curently provisionally accepted.

Is anyone going there right now? I want to move back to California after I finish school. Is this something that can be done if I go to a school like Apollo?

I would like to get in and out of school and not stretch it out over 3 years.

Thanks,

W

do u think u can apply for nap positions?

usually, the hospital will ask you if you would like to work for them after you graduate since you established repore with them.

if not...then persistence is the key...

u have to apply for ANY hospital, for any shift and cant be picky with floors either...you can always switch out within 6 mo to a year, i believe...even put ur apps to rehabilitation centers if u have to..

hospitals only hire a certain amt of new grads per yr because new grads r expensive...sometimes, they dont have new grad programs yet coz they r new and prefer to hire someone with a bit of experience (like, San Martin)

but there are hospitals that have programs that if u commit a certain amt of yrs to them...they will pay for ur tuition and guarantee u a job...for example, North Vista.
