Is this really true about employment in NV?

For those that live/have interviewed, etc. in NV, is this article accurate? If so, why don't they recruit more in the Midwest...if they do, I'd be taking them up on their offers for sure...

This is happening all over the country.............just some states are more vocal about it. There are offers being made by almost every facility in this country. There are only so many places that they can go to recruit.

Are you still thinking of moving here? I thought I saw a post where you said something about Alaska.

The school also is seeking state approval to offer an undergraduate degree in allied health, which Bentley said is a precursor to a nursing degree.

In addition to offering a licensed professional nurse degree, the school will add technical certifications in high-demand areas such as kidney dialysis and respiratory therapy -- specialties that "make a nurse worth more money," Barker said.

Thought I'd highlight a couple interesting passages from the aforementioned news item...

Where I work there Is a $5000 bonus for experienced nurses in several areas AND a $5000 relocation bonus. The article is for real. I am a new grad, and I still received up to a $2000 relocation bonus. another place offered a $2000 sign on bonus, also.

Default Thinking of moving to LV
Hi there. I am about to finish up my RN program in December and am looking at moving to Las Vegas after graduation. Does anyone know what the bonuses are that some of the hospitals are offereing?

At my hospital I will get a total of $2300 in sign-on bonus. It's broken down over a period of time. I did not have to sign a contract for employment for receiving this bonus because of the way it's paid out.

I didn't think so, but I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes . Are you still coming to Las Vegas? Good luck with everything!

When you all are ready to move here; give me and IM and I will give you all the details of Mountainview and who the nurse recruiter is there.

(See previous post about bonuses)
