A lot of people last semester were dissatisfied with that adviser's advice. I had my meeting with her and I tell you it was great we sat down and she said "So, how was A&P and Micro?" I said "I passed its on your screen there." She said "yes you did good job, now we can take the TEAS so you can apply for Spring next year." I said "No" she looked confused. It was rather funny "What do you mean, No?" I said I already took the TEAS and Passed and applied to Nursing school for Fall and got in so I think this meeting is over now thank you for all your wonderful advice on waiting to apply" Then I left.

Moral of the story is apply as soon as you can. There is no limit on how many times you can apply and the worst thing they can say is no. But the best thing they can say is YES like they told me Mr. 12 points.

Hope this helps all my future nursing student colleagues.
wow really?!?!
awesome dude!
i guess there's hope... but i was reading other threads and some of them applied with 22's and 23's and they didn't get in. My friend applied with 28 and didn't get in! Do you have straight A's or something?
congrats anyway!

I was rather fortunate in that everyone who listened to the health adviser opted not to apply. This caused a lack of applicants and there where more seats for part time and full time than applicants so all you needed to do was have your ducks all lined up and you where in. I should actually thank that adviser if she didn't give garbage advise to everyone I might not have got in early. So "Thank you health adviser you know who! Thank you! keep giving that great advise so people that are willing to gamble and take a little risk will have opportunity.

Yes it is true. I got in with just 17 points to the full time track. I have good grades, not spectacular, Out of all the classes I have 4 B's and the rest A's. But I do not think that counts for much except for a couple of points. Almost everyone has 3.0-4.0. At least that is what they say so I cannot say my grades are enough to topple any one out-- for me to take their spot. The TEAS test is an entrance exam. I do not remember where I scored at-- maybe in the 80% to 85% for the program? Again, I do not believe it matters.
I too would like to thank that same advisor that told me I could not possibly make it into the nursing program within a year of enrolling into my first pre-requisite. I am also proud to know VegasEMT, I walk in his shadow.... hats off to you buddy!
