Patient Ratio

by Mercy65

Is any efforts being made to get the patient ratio to 4:1 like California? I know Arizona is working on it. I'm looking to relocate to Nevada in 2 yrs, after my youngest graduates high school. But the patient ratio is a big factor as to were I decide to move. I currently live in NJ and we don't have any set limits, I average 6-7 patients on day shift and it's too much.

Are there unions in Neveda, sometimes that is very helpful in getting the ratios down?

Default Re: Patient Ratio
Yes we have unions. The ratios out here are usually 4-5:1 med surg, 2:1 icu & IMC, 4:1 ER. Nights are a little different for med/surg it usually rockets up to 8-9:1 nights.
