hi everyone!
I just moved here from Pennsylvania with my husband and am looking into the nursing programs available in the Las Vegas area. I' m 31 and already have a BA and MS in psychology. I looked into the CCSN program and they said they have a waiting list. UNLV was just uncooperative. Apparently they have a policy that you must officially apply to the university and be accepted before you can talk to an advisor. Well the deadline to apply had passed and I needed to talk to someone in the nursing department about prereq's but they said they could not help me because I had not been admitted to the university yet! They told me to look at their website and try to figure out what prereq's I needed myself

Finally I went to Nevada State College and they were very helpful. I might even make it into the Fall 05 accelerated BSN class if I get everything done in time.
My first question is, "Because NSC's program is so new, will employers in LV look at it as inferior?" and will this make it harder to get a job after? And what are the better hospitals to work at in the LV area? Salaries? Benefits?
Finally, I'd love to chat with a few people from here as I have no friends or family out west.
