Check out craigslist you will find lots of places to rent. I hope you like it there at UMC. I work for the state of nevada as a Correctional Nurse, and I wouldn't work any where else. I tried many private sector health jobs in Vegas and they all where the pits. The state isn't perfect, but it's the best job here in Vegas in my opinion. One of the administrators from UMC just taught my ACLS class and she was a nice person and a good instructor, but I think she's retiring soon. Good luck in the ER.

UMC is amazing, in my opinion. I have done some rotations in the ER and loved the environment. It is an incredibly busy ER -- I read on the intranet at UMC that their ER is like the 3rd busiest ER in the U.S. It is a county hospital and you will find issues with any county hospital, but I really do enjoy it there.

I would check out the Las Vegas Review Journal for rooms for rent -- www.lvrj.com

Hi, I just read your thread and just a note of welcome from another UMC RN. I have worked at UMC for the last 14 years. I would not trade my experience I have received. WELCOME and hope you enjoy the valley and the people you will meet. The ER is a very busy place. I work in LD and we are very busy . Welcome and enjoy. jan

Hi, I have been in Vegas for a couple of months and are currently working in a clinic. I am thingking of applying for a job at UMC - Adult ER. I haven't worked in the ER for about 4 years now and was wondering how your orientation went. Do they at least give you one???? Are you happy there? Any info would be apreciated.
