Hiring new LPN in Las Vegas?

by fluffy6
Updated Jul 20, 2005 at 03:42 PM by fluffy6

Hello.... Help!! I just got my LPN licence and looking for a job here in vegas...actually just moved here from LA a couple of months ago.. I know for a fact that hospitals dont usually hire LPN without experience... If so I can work at any Long Term or at Skilled Nursing Facility... I'm looking for a facility on the north west side where I live... if there is any... I really don't know what's the starting rate here... A friend of mine also just got her licence in California and started working at SNF with a starting rate of $22. It does not really matter to me if it's only a couple of $ below or above it as long as it's not way too below that....Any recommendation would be great... thankssss

A good place to look for jobs is on the on-line edition of the Las Vegas Review Journal. I think one place looking for LPN
's that welcomes new grads (they say it in their ad) is Silver Hills, and it is on the NW area. Las Vegas Classified Job Ads

Maybe you've already renewed your CPR, but if not, here are a few places that I know of:
(1) St. Rose offers it (also includes AED, if you need it) for around $40. The telephone number is: 616-5000, press whatever number that is for Siena campus. Then ask for Education Dept.

(2) American Medical Response (AMR) offers it (also includes AED). The telephone number is: 384-3400. The cost is $60.

(3) There's a place called Code 3 that offers the course for $35-40. The telephone number is: 395-7170. If you call, be sure to find out if the card is actually Healthcare Provider. I had problems with some of the places that offer CPR, because while they offered what I needed (CPR with AED), the card was not specifically healthcare provider. Good luck with everything.
