Re: Has anyone taken A&P at TMCC?
I took A&P I in the summer (4 weeks long) and A&P II in the fall (16 weeks long). I think the fast-track A&P where each is 8 weeks long would be a good balance. Expect to be busy, but I think it's doable.
Yeah, they usually have a cadaver. The instructors would mostly use them to demonstrate the anatomy of certain areas. Some instructors seem to use them more than others. The smell is awful, but they're rather educational. Most of lab is just looking at slides under a microscope for histology, pictures from your texts, or models. Take advantage of the models and memorize them. For lab exams, a part of the model would be what you have to identify, so if you stuck with books to study, you may not get it on a physical model.
Anyhow, overall, A&P wasn't that bad in my opinion. It would keep you busy! I would be careful with how many other classes you take with fasttrack A&P. I wouldn't do more than 1 other since that would add up to 3 for the entire semester. A&P will be pretty intense.
