that is crazy, considering the number of students who wanted to apply but didn't get a chance to take the TEAS b/c of the wait list...me thinks this school is disorganized. they could potentially be graduating 15 or so more nurses for the semester if they had allowed for more students to take the test or expanded the cut off date. that's a bit of a waist of resources =(. but oh well, less competition if WTXgrl has accurate info.

Her information is legit. I went and asked limited entry last Monday. Hopefully they will accept all the completed applicants. If they do then I am in.

the number 128 on the advisement sheet is only a ceiling number, they dont have to accept that many students. Thats why they didnt extend the deadline, etc to get more applicants. we're in!!! assuming we didnt messed up our our apps.

Just left campus and spoke with the lady in admissions and she said they will be making the phone calls sometime next week. (4-27 to 5-01) I also inquired about the selection criteria of the applications and if that means that all of the 111 applications would be accepted. Her reply was, they first select the applications that meet the criteria that are stated in the box on the top of the Fall Program Course Sheet and then from there they select by points. I still don’t know what the lowest points you can have and still be selected. ??? She said that some of the applicants did not even take the TEAS test but submitted it anyway (Don’t know why someone would do that) but that will whittle down the class some more.
Sooo, if you passed the TEAS and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 for all program prerequisites then the points may not really matter since they don't have more than the 128 applicants. Just my guess.
Now we just gotta wait until next week. Geez, it gonna be a long week!

she told me the same thing. but i dont know what she means by selecting students by points? points doesnt even matter since there are less than 128 applicants. i asked her " does this mean if you meet the minimum requirements than you're in"? she said "NO"... huh??? she made it seemed like even though you may meet the requirement you still may not get in!!!! i dont know.... whatevers.

I think what the rule of thumb is that they take students who have completed all the prereqs and the teas. Then if more spaces are available they take the highest score and the rest who have that specific number of points get in. For example...if you have 27 points and you have the highest points without micro you will get in along with the people who also have 27 points. You really have to be on your toes. You have to make sure you schedule your TEAS way early and if you can't take it at CSN take it at Nevada State and transfer your score. Make sure you schedule your meetings with an advisor from Charleston or Cheyenne and follow through with everything. It makes no difference how many applicants there are. They have to allow room for people who are reinstating into the program. Its competitive and time consuming! Just keep up with the fight and don't give up!

I spoke to the lady in the office...(you all know who I am talking about I hope) and she said that they were going to make calls from Monday - Thursday because when they gave out the exact date last time, people were calling them and it got a little crazy. As soon as anyone hears anything...start a new post and let us know!!!!

Good Luck Everyone! We will all have to stick together!!!
