Okay, honestly....do you like what you're doing right now with your current job? How is it "wasting your time"? You're making money from the job, right? I don't see how that's a waste of time. I don't recommend going into something that you don't want to do (just cause your hubby wants you to). Did you like the CNA course that you completed? Were you able to get lots of clinical practice to get the "feel" for it? It's a hard job to do! I, too, have my certification, but haven't actually worked as one. I am now going through the nursing program (and so far, it isn't anything like being a CNA). If you want to be a teacher - you should look into going to school for that!! It's never too late to decide "what you wanna be when you grow up" and then achieve it! Don't let someone push you into doing something you'll be unhappy with; it's your life - do what you feel is best! good luck!

Here's my 2 cents: I say GO FOR IT, take the EMS offer to finish up your CEU'S.... consider it as an offer you can't refuse, EMS is doing you a favor, take it. Here's why:


1. You said you've been in a job for 10 years and that your husband says, it's a waste of time. I'm thinking it's not a career, it's a JOB, it pays the bills but it limits you financially.


2. It's good to dream, but really... professions we all thought were "stable" are mostly NOT anymore ... "teaching" is one of those and NOT just in NV. With the economy in question (not sure when we'll recover and who's to say it won't happen again?) and all states are cutting back, teaching will always be ONE of the "first cutbacks" on the list. Simply put, education will always take the backseat if people can't pay their bills and/or they have to sacrifice something --->> funding for it is always on top of the list to be cut. Also, aren't teachers have a history of being underpaid, unappreciated and disrespected (middle/high school level) at times?


Nowadays, it's preferable to be realistic and practical. Take the offer and run with it, try working as a CNA, if you don't mind it, then maybe nursing is for you. They're not the same, but it gives you an insight. If you still want to be a teacher, go for it. But, now is NOT the time.
