CNA State of Nevada Information Wanted

by NVBecky

Hi yall,

I'm leaving the Information Technology field to join health care. I want to move to Las Vegas and get my Certification to be a Nurse's Assistant. Then, I plan to complete my education for becoming a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

What do CNA's do on the job? Where can I get the Certification in Las Vegas in the shortest amount of time?

Do yall have any idea what the demand is for Nuclear Med Techs in Nevada? Know anything about the field?

Thanks,

NVBecky

I know that you can go to the Community College of Southern Nevada and complete a CNA course in one semester. It will cost you around $200.00. After you complete the course you have to take the state board exam and have a FBI background check. There are plenty of CNA jobs here. They also just opened a new hospital here.

I have my CNA in both Idaho and Calfironia, but I will soon be moving to Las Vegas (hopefully). My nursing home in Idaho paid for my CNA class and that was only because I have home health aide experience. In California you can go to free health clinics and pay for supplies only and will teach you and certify you for free. Each state is different, and I dont know if Nevada has Medical Assistants but the class is a little longer and you make more money. Anyways what I have learned is that research is key and it could save you hundreds of dollars. MY question is if there is reciprocity from any one of the states that I have my certification in and how easy is it to get?

Is the $200 the tuition fee for the entire course? What is the total cost for the CNA program? What about the LPN/ADN degree? how much would it cost me in CCSN?

hi I recently moved from IL to NV 6 weeks ago. I applied by endorsement. You can apply for temporary license to work while waiting for permanent one. I know of one company that will train you in three weeks an offer you a job after.(THI) I was licensed permanently in 3 to 4 months. I suggest you try to apply before you move because some places will not hire or interview with out nv certification. You can go to NV BOARD OF NURSING for forms. good luck!
