i got accepted to Touro last week! the campus seems pretty small but the faculty is super friendly! 16 months for a BSN and then only another year (split into 3 semesters) for your MSN is a pretty good deal! Like someone mentioned before...if you're looking to get your degree, start your career, and get on with your life...this is a good way to go.

I haven't started the program yet (it starts in July) but if anyone has any questions about the application process I'd be happy to answer if I can!

To Kara... did your class have to participate in the Intense Camp thing? I'd like to but $1500 is A LOT and idk if it's really worth it.

o ok...so I guess I shouldn't feel too bad about not participating. what's your class schedule like? clinical schedule? do you (or any of your classmates) work while in the program? do u think working while in the program is wise?

o, and what about financial aid...has that helped you out significantly or have you mostly relied on loans?

Thanks A LOT for your help!

I went for the interview for the next class coming in July and the faculty made the program seem very very difficult.... I completely understand that going to school "nursing" will be hard but they said like about 10-12 hours a night of reading, which I don't mind reading if I am reading for a reason. Tests every Thursday and or Fridays, they just made it seem impossible practically... like they wanted me to think it was too tough or either really good? It's not like I am not prepared for a tough program or nursing school, but I just would like a students point of view toward the whole academics work load class scheduling, and Curriculum in all. I heard Touro likes to change the schedule like every other day... that is what a DO student told me I wouldn't know if it was for the nursing program as well. I would say I am a B student, and I wouldn't want to turn into a C, because I couldn't handle the program specifics, you know what I mean...? How many have dropped or needed to leave the program if any for academic reasons?? They kind of put a stigma on the program I guess, for me... I feel wary of it, a little. Thanks for any info.!

Fem i completely agree with you. they did make it seem as though there would be A LOT of reading. did they mention class schedules or hours to you? i'm lookin for apts out there now and wanted to know how far is too far, esp if we're gonna have super early classes.

are u discouraged from going now or did you just want the insight to be better prepared?

i'm hoping any current/past students can share their experiences so we can know if it's as tough as they make it seem...

Hi-

So you are going to accept your acceptance from Touro? That is nice we are going to be class mates. Yes basically I would like current students to give some information about the program that will help set minds eye at ease, you know… I am not too discouraged about the program, it was my first choice and I am enthralled how things finally turned out in the end for me! Presently I am just curious, I want to know everything, so that it can help prepare me mentally for what’s about to come! Keep in touch if you hear any news…Please.

Talk to you later!

Is it true that with a degree from Touro University in Las Vegas, you can only practice in Nevada State? I saw this comment on one of the forums and was really curious to know if this is true.
