propofol infusion syndrom

Just thought I;d bring this topic up again .There is finaly a warning on medwatch for this syndrome. We can think a fine doctor friend of ours who addressed this problem and got the FDA to take action. There is many new articles out on this topicThis syndrome cost the life of our son three years ago. He was sedated for a head injury for several days and came down with the syndrome on the fourth day. There was no promt action taken to stop the infusion till it was to late

Default Re: propofol infusion syndrom
I have never experienced this. We use propofol on the majority of our patients. It's great, easy to wake pts up for a neuro change.

I am so sorry for your loss. I will definitely read up on this. I'm so sorry.
