Neurosurgical Lab Values Help!!!

Im Doing A Project In School On Neuro Surgery. Can Any One Help Me With Lab Values That Contraindicate Sugery? Are They Any Different With Neurosurgery Than Any Other Sugery.

K+


How Much Is Too High Or Too Low To Do Surgery???

I Know Sometime Things Change When You Have Pt's That Have Certain Conditions Like Diabetes And And Chfect....

Help This Is One Of My Hardest Subjects.

Help This Is One Of My Hardest Subjects.
It honestly all depends on what the surgery is for and whether it is an elective surgery or if it is for a life and death situation. If is elective, then you want their labs to be WNL if possible, but if it is a life and death situation then lab values tend to go out a window to a point. They can give blood in OR for a low H&H. There really is no difference between lab values for neuro than for general surgery that I am aware of.
