Evidence based practice concerning NMBA patients

I have a question for all of my fellow colleges... I am attempting to re-write my hospital's policy concerning Train of Four monitoring and paralytic infusions. I am concerned though; our policy does not state that the patients should be considered a 1:1. This situation has been revisited this evening when we were paralyzing a patient due to ARDS/oxygenation status and our supervision attempted to give the same nurse and admission! The supervisor suggested that a unit clerk sit with the newly paralyzed patient while the patients nurse admitted a post operative patient in a room 5 rooms away! I thought that the supervisor was incorrect for suggesting this due to the fact that it would fall under improper delegation to and under trained staff member.

Long story short, I am looking for good evidence based articles to support my thoughts that a patient receiving NMBA should have 1:1 nursing care to monitor for complications and treatment outcomes.

I appreciate any input!
