Craniotomy recovery ?

Can someone please tell me how long it typically takes to come off of life support after a temporal craniotomy to remove an angioma? Is it normal to be on a vent and tube feeding for several days post op? How long does it usually take to recover completely?

Is there a good website anyone can recommend about this?

Default Re: Craniotomy recovery ?
Any number of situations can arise with brain surgery and without knowing the patient I really can't answer the question. I would talk to the doctor and ask the questions directly. Ask the doctor why the patient is still on the ventilator and why they are unable to progress the way you expected.
